Our Tenth Anniversary! Jan 2007 It is with a grateful spirit Interior Concepts by Wanda is celebrating our ten year anniversary! I remember the very first clients who entrusted us with their remodeling and redecorating project. They continued on and shared the opportunity for us to work with them on a new home construction project, and most recently, selected us to update that design. Thank you, Hal and Loretta! We cherish and appreciate those special relationships!
We have many successful client stories from the past ten years. Each client has offered us the opportunity to work with them in different and unique ways. Some have asked us to assist in refreshing or updating an existing home. We have held hands - and our breath - through many remodeling projects while sharing good fortune and laughter as the project comes to fruition. For those who have gone through the building process, we have worked with the team members of architects, builders, superintendents and subcontractors to be sure every detail has been reviewed or possibilities approached.
Interior design is not for the faint of heart! In order to accomplish the finished project, there are many other resources and people with whom we coordinate efforts. Are there challenges and opportunities? Absolutely! We view custom design as a constant planning and monitoring process. Our job is not just founded in visual creativity. We work constantly, behind the scenes to make sure things go smoothly, and to minimize any issues for our clients. Designer's services are important to the quality of the client's life, to include for their safety and welfare. When we are allowed to do what we do best, we see the happiest clients and most outstanding results.
Thank you to everyone who has been: a client, a vendor, a contractor, a service provider, an installer, and a source of reference to our business. We appreciate you being on our team! We hope to continue to grow and to become even better than we are today!
Many blessings to you!

Couture for Windows - Worth the Investment Dec 2005 Beautiful window treatments add such an important design element to any room, and yet, clients can tend to place them at the bottom of their priority list. So often they are viewed as an "add-on" item. Of course, it is easier to resort to a "quick fix" with accessories and wall décor but when the sum total has been added, there isn t always the need for so many items and the important window covering budget has been notched away, furthering the inability to complete the room.
A fabulous window treatment can go a long way in adding an architectural statement, which may not exist, in a plain room. Fabrics, trims and hardware bring such warmth, texture or drama. Even if the treatment is of a quiet or streamlined nature, viewing the before and after pictures can really drive home the point of addressing those window or door openings. Even unusual windows can be further enhanced by a fabric treatment.
If you absolutely have to view interior design with a more practical eye, window treatments offer several important functions. They certainly provide the homeowner with privacy as well as light control features. While natural light can be a wonderful mood lifter, it also can lift the color out of upholstery fabrics and area rugs and can fade hardwood floors and furniture. It was also not by accident that window treatments or draperies would have been used to shut out drafts from cool or warm temperatures. Insulation is an added bonus feature. The return to interlinings and English bump linings create a more luxurious appearance.
There are so many design options for the most discerning client. Custom window treatments should be the couture item for the home. If properly fabricated and installed, they elevate the entire room. Consider the endless possibilities we can custom create for you!
Homearama 2005 News People's Choice Award Honor Aug 2005 Our Homearama 2005 Showhouse project proved to be a great success! There were so many wonderful remarks from the folks touring this show. You can view some of the photos of the showhouse on our Gallery page. You can also see more architectural features at the Regal website: www.regalchb.com

Dining Options Although entertaining at home has become a larger part of our lifestyle, the dining room seems to be a space that many of my clients rarely visit. It may be due to a formality established in the room, or the fact that many homes offer larger kitchen and casual dining spaces. There is absolutely nothing wrong with maintaining this as a traditionally used area, but some of my clients have desired a better function, along with drop-dead good looks.
Depending on the location and size, the dining room could be switched to another location where the use might be more applicable. If a large living space is needed and the dining room suits the purpose, then by all means, make the change. The overhead fixture could be raised or sent to another space for head clearance.
A smaller, round table could be extended to welcome more guests. In it’s "off time", there could be cabinets added for a library look. Larger, upholstered chairs could take the place of typical dining chairs. This softens the room and would encourage lounging after a great meal for conversation.
The table could be cleared for games, music, or other activities. A small loveseat or settee, on casters, could be situated in a corner and pulled forward to the table.
Of course, color and textures, with beautiful artwork and accents, will complete the "final course". All of these design concepts, and more, can be created for you through a consultation with Interior Concepts by Wanda. Bon Appetite!
